Welcome to the Kiwi Birdlife Park’s first blog post!
This space has been created to update our friends and future visitors on the wonderful conservation work being done here at the park.
Each post will be written by a wildlife keeper to give you a first-hand account of all the latest news. Every so often we will also be talking about animal husbandry and how we provide top quality care for all the park’s critters.

What better time to start too as breeding season has just begun and my goodness have we kicked off to a flying start. This is especially exciting as we are part of several breed-for-release programmes, boosting wild populations of threatened native species!
So follow our conservation journey through this weekly blog, where we are doing our part in helping to protect the wonderful wildlife of Aotearoa. We are primarily funded by our visitors so please come and say hello! We couldn’t do any of this work without you.
